English

In this course I learned many things such as to write better and have a specific topic with which we had treated, or talk more in public in English, comment on classes. I understood better the topics that seemed to me difficult in the past. It was a very interactive and beautiful course. The way in which the course was given as videos and music, and even listen to different types of English is very important to learn good English , the games we were doing in class were good for learning  the topics that was complicated course.
The way the teacher explained everything and took the time to make the most interactive class was a very important point. The last course of English 4 was one of the best courses because I learned what it cost me more and improved my grammar and in vocabulary I learned much.

Future Forms

The future, like the past and present, has four different forms: Simple Future, Future Continuous, Future Perfect, and Future Perfect Continuous.

-Before starting to explain the topic, this is a typical conversation between people, and everyday we use future forms.

We use Future forms:

For timetables:  Use the simple present to talk about timetables.                                                                                                    Example: The plane departs at 2:30 from Rio.
For decisions, plans and intentions:                                                                                                    --- Use will to talk a decision made at the time of speaking (including offers and promises).
-Use going to to talk about a planor intention (maybe details haven t been decided yet).
Example: I m going to work in finance.

  -  Use the present continuous to talk about a future arrangement (details such as time and place have been decided).                                                                                                                                                   Example: I’m playing tennis at 4:30 with Zara
For predictions:

-Use will to make predictions based on what you know or believed. We often use words like think, hope, believe, with will in this case.
Example: I think Mike will be a good manager
- Use the future continuous to talk about something that will be in progress at a definite time in the future.                                                                                                                                                                          Example: This time next year I ll be living in France
-Use the future continuous to ask about someone’s plans.                                                                                      Example: Will you be working late tonight?

Is important to know that
Going to' or '-ing' are often both correct for planed events. 'Going to' should be used for distant future intentions

Example: He's going to study Law

Gerund and Infinitive

There are certain words in English that are usually followed by an infinitive or gerund

When one verb follows another, the second verb is either a gerund or an infinitive. Some verbs that are followed by a gerund are related in meaning, this verbs show personal tasted: adore, like, don't, mind.

Infinitive

Object + infinitive
These verbs are also related in meaning and show one person or thin influencing the actions of another

Examples: warn, tell, advise, urge, force, allow.

Example: She warned him not to go there

Here is a video that explain more about the use of the infinitive but explain the topic in a song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOOcHU6MH4I

Use infinitive:
-As the subject of a clause  -> To know  you is to love you
-After certain expressions (without "to") -> Why not go to the cinema?
-After certain verbs (with "to")  -> He wants to swim.

Gerund

Certain words are followed by an -ING form

 -ING  form of the verb
-Verbs that are followed by a preposition use the gerund

Example: I look forward to meeting her

Always use:

-As the subject of a clause-> cycling is good for your health
-After certain adjectives-> He's afraid of going by plane
-After certain verbs -> I enjoy cooking

Here is a video that explain both (infinitive and gerund)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHZ4Btcttn8

And that's an example of a simple conversation, we use gerunds and infinitives everyday and everywhere

Passives

Another topic that is very important to understand is the passiv voice, this has a little difficulty but with practice will be able to understand.

Passive Voice

Passives can be used for "distancing" . This means that the speaker or writer doesn't want to complete responsability for the ideas he or she expresses.

To understand the passive and the active voice here is a link that explain more

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePfmgMTgXl8

Is often used:

-To make a statement less personal and slightly more polite

Example: We don't allow that -> That isn't allowed

-In informal writing when the focus is on achivements and events rather than the people who were responsible.

Example: The vaccine was discovered by chance.

There are some common passive expressions to show that we are not certain of a statement.

It is said that
It was thought
It is believed that
He was reported

An easy example to understand the passive voice

The passive forms of a verb are created by combining a form of the "verb to be"  with the past participle of the main verb . Other helping verbs are also sometimes present .

Example:  The measure could have been killed in committee.

Important: The passive can be used, also, in various tenses

And example of Passive voice, and easier way to learn, is when we see television, and in this video we can learn the passive voice with a TV shows

E portafolio

The first topic that I think is important to summarize and focus a little more are prepositions, as there are many prepositions and not always easy to learn.

One of this topic is the verbs and adjectives with prepositions

First, the thing that we need to know about the prepositions, are short words (in, on, about, under.. ) that usually stand in front of nouns.
Exist many types of preposition like place, time

To understand better, here is an example:

There are many phrases that use fixed prepositions.

Verb + preposition:  opt for , distinguish from, succeed in
Adjective + preposition: short of, riddled with, lacking in

Prepositions generally introduce prepositional phrases. Prepositional phrases look like this:
preposition + optional modifiers + noun, pronoun, or gerund
